Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 3
Key Verse: Verse 22– “Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?”
Key Words: that a man should rejoice in his own works
Chapter three of Ecclesiastes is in all likelihood the most popular chapters in the entire book. Every believer at some point has read the first eight verses of this chapter.
When our girls were young we would have them have their own private time in Bible study and prayer. After they were finished, I would usually ask what Scripture they had read and what lessons they had learned. Well, as usual I asked my question in regard to what Scripture they had read and one of my daughters informed me that she had read Ecclesiastes, chapter three, verses one through eight.
The next day she again informed me that she had read Ecclesiasts, chapter three, verses one through eight; and so it went for almost the entire week, when finally I asked about verse nine. She informed me that God was not through speaking to her about verses one through eight. I kindly let her know that the following day we would discuss verse nine.
When the time came for our discussion and I asked her my usual question about what she had learned from verse nine, she looked at me, smiled, and said, “Solomon had a rotten attitude about work.” You know, she was right. Solomon saw neither profit nor need for work. There are a lot of employees who have that same attitude.
I recently read about the top nine workplace attitudes that employers hate. In reverse order they are....
9. the clock-watchers’ attitude, always watching the clock;
8. the trouble-makers’ attitude (need I say more?);
7. the complaining attitude;
6. the always-needs-more-help attitude;
5. the excuse-after-excuse attitude;
4. the time-waster attitude;
3. the “I’m underpaid” attitude;
2. the rumor attitude, always spreading rumors; and
1. the not-my-job attitude.
Now, let me ask you, do you have a right attitude about work and your job?

What to do:
✞ Always check your bad attitude in outside the doors of the workplace.
