Bible Reading: II Samuel 1:1-16
Key Verse: Verse 10 – “So I stood upon him, and slew him, because I was sure that he could not live after that he was fallen: and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither unto my lord.”
Key Words: So I stood upon him, and slew him
All one has to do is read I Samuel 31 to realize that this young man was lying and his lie came back to haunt him.
When we live by lying, then our lies will eventually kill us, if not physically, certainly spiritually.
The story is told of the man who didn't want the kids from the neighborhood eating his watermelons. So he put up a sign in his yard. It simply said, “One of these watermelons is poisonous.” Now, none were poisonous, but he said, “One of these watermelons is poisonous.” Obviously, the kids, not knowing which one was bad, would not steal his watermelons and eat them.
Now, none were poisonous. The man lied in an attempt to protect his crop from the thieves.
He came out the next day and, much to his chagrin, he saw the word one crossed off and the word two in its place. Now he'd lost his whole crop because he had no idea which watermelon the kids had messed with. Lies have a way of coming back around. Amen!!

What to do:
✞Understand, here a lie and there a lie results in your life being a lie.
