Bible Reading: Genesis 2:1-15
Key Verse: Verse 15 – “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”
Key Words: to keep it
Have you ever given any thought, in this day of social services and free handouts by our government, to the fact that God intended for man to “get a job?”
Why, God has a job.
He had the job of creation.
He has the job in regard to salvation.
He has the job of justification.
He has the job of sanctification.
He has the job of propitiation.
God has a job and He does His job to perfection.
God intended for man to work – that’s the reason He told Adam to “keep the garden.”
One of the most interesting speeches I’ve read took place some years ago, right here in our state of Alabama. Bill Cosby was the commencement speaker at Talladega State College. His speech was filled with humor; but after the humor, Mr. Cosby became very pointed in his address. He told the graduating class, “Get a job!” He went on to say, “Tomorrow is Monday and old people expect you to be out there looking for a job, and they expect you to come back Monday evening with a job. Your family has done enough. Go get a job!!”
All I can say is “Amen!!”

What to do:
✞ Get a job.
✞ If you have a job, do it well and thank God for it.
✞ Always remember, even God has a job.
