Numbering Your Days

Bible Reading: Psalm 90

Key Verse: Verse 12 - “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”

Key Words:  So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

With every living soul there comes a built-in fuse.  Some fuses burn slowly, while others burn quickly.  Every birth is the beginning of a countdown that, with variation, zeroes in on a forced exit from the scene.  We call this death.  Yet daily we shrug off our indifferences and each night we roll over and go to sleep while our fuse burns forever down.

Leslie Weatherhead, who pastored the City Temple in London for twenty-five years, wrote a book entitled Time For God.  In this book, Weatherhead helps us to number our days by mathematically calculating a “one-day lifetime” for a person living an average life span.  (His calculations are actually for only the waking hours of 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.)

*  If you are fifteen years old, it is 10:25 A.M.

*  If you are twenty it is 11:34 A.M.

*  If you are twenty-five, the time is 12:45 P.M.

*  It is 1:51 P.M. for a thirty-year-old

*  At thirty-five it is 3:00 P.M.

*  If you are forty it is 4:00 P.M.

*  If you are forty-five, the clock reads 5:16 P.M.

*  For a person of fifty, it is 6:25 P.M.

*  It is 7:34 P.M. for those at fifty-five

* And if you are at seventy, the time is 11:00 P.M.

So what time is itin your life?  Let me encourage you to live each day for the Lord.

What to do:

Live your life with no regrets.
