David also asked “who
shall dwell in thy holy hill?”
As you read Psalm 15, it
almost sounds as if our salvation (our dwelling) depends on our good works, but
this is not about our salvation, but about our dwelling (our fellowship) with
God, a close relationship with God.
The answer is found in
verses 2 – 5. Verse 2: those who walk
uprightly and speak the truth in his heart.
Verse 3: those who do not backbite, nor those who do evil to his neighbor,
nor take up a reproach against his neighbor.
Verse 4: those who fear the Lord.
Verse 5: those who aid people, not use people.
It appears to be the more
Christ-like that we treat others, the closer our relationship to God.
Mamie Adams always went to a branch post office in her town because the
postal employees there were friendly.
She went there to buy stamps just before Christmas one year and the
lines were particularly long. Someone
pointed out that there was no need to wait in line because there was a stamp
machine in the lobby. “I know,” said
Mamie, “but the machine won’t ask me about my arthritis.”
What to do:
✞Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you.
