Remembered No More

Bible Reading: Ezekiel 21:18-32

Key Verse: Verse 32 - “Thou shalt be for fuel to the   fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou     shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.”

Key Words: thou shalt be no more remembered

Ezekiel’s prophecy dealt with the Ammonites.  The sin of the Ammonites was that they continued to conspire against Israel rather than side with them.  God promised Abraham in Genesis 12:3, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:...”  So it was with the Ammonites.

The International Standard Bible Encyclopedia says regarding the Ammonites:  “They are an extinct group.”  The word extinct means exterminated, quenched, died out.

At one time the Ammonites were a strong people.  According to Nehemiah 4:7, they helped make up the core of the Babylonian Empire.

The legacy of the Ammonites was “remembered no more.”  What will our legacy be?

What organization, above all other interest groups, can generate the most calls to Congress in a single day?  Focus on the Family.  When they contact their grassroots, Congress is inundated with calls.  Maybe the reason for such results should be credited to James Dobson...Senior!  No doubt, James Dobson, Jr. has done a remarkable job, but would he be in such a position, had his father not been a man of prayer?  Engraved on the tomb of James Dobson, Sr. are two special words: “He Prayed.”  Because he fervently prayed, this man of God has left a legacy of prayer that will continue to impact the American family for years to come.  Are you leaving a similar legacy?

What to do:

Remember, only what’s done for Christ will last.
